I won't be around for a while. Got things to do and stuff to accomplish.

Street Fighter Collab. Hmm.

First off, my sweetie wasn't too fond of the preloader, since we cherish the amazing Chun-Li and hate the lameness that is Cammy. Of course, he had to go to work and didn't see the ending boot-to-the-head. Still.

It also appears that I wasn't included in the collab, save for a couple of images used in the beginning cinema. I know there are easter eggs, and that there's a possibility that I might be in there SOMEwhere, but looking around in the SF Collab is about as enticing as rooting through the dumpster of a porn shop, pervy hobo included.

Well, GUESS WHAT! I put my submission up on YouTube! (pardon the quality, I'm still new to video making and editing)

For one who decides "I'm gonna be an animator!" in the professional sense, I need a LOT more practice, patience, and desperation for cash.

I can't really show the first two here, but that last one is pretty apparent on my webcomic blog. You can see the commission info right below the donation button / blue kitty bank. It's not perfect and there are a lot of details I still need to fill in, but I need to start somewhere.

Looks like I'm going to be busy soon.

Sorry about that. I had originally thought that voting ended on the 3rd, but then they kept taking votes, so I thought that I had made a mistake and that it ended on the 11th. Guh. I hate it when I inadvertently lie to people. -_-;

I fudged the contest dates

Normally... normally I don't go around cold-messaging people to "vote for me" on some little thing I made, but also normally I don't have the chance of paying off my student loans in one fell swoop. So this is a major exception I'm making.

So now this goes out to whoever wants to help me out, or just see what I've been animating this past week. Voting ends on May 11th at noon EST, and you can vote once every 24 hours until then. Even if you don't want to vote, adding to the view count helps too. Also, don't be fooled by the still frame shown! The video itself is not that crappy-looking!

Whoo, that there old news post accumulated a little funk!

Welp, for those who haven't noticed, I've changed the website link on the left to my new webcomic. I decided to start one as a means of not only getting more drawing practice, but also to give my fans (all 3 of you) some fresh material to look at.
So what about my other animation projects that need finished/redone? I'll get to them when I can figure out a proper work schedule and plan accordingly.
Huh. That brings up another question... what would you guys think if I just took a lot of my old, unfinished animations and posted them up somewhere as-is? You can then let me know if you think I should finish them or forget about them.

That's about all I can think of right now.
To quote the little red devil from Conker's Bad Fur Day: "Adios, muchachoes!"

...will be out ON or AFTER March 18th. If it comes out before, then I'll be sending a box of homemade AngryFaic cookies to NG HQ. (No laxatives in them, I promise!)

I'm on the list... but does this mean I'll actually make it to the final production??

It bloody better make it through! I really put in a solid effort on it, has some detailed fbf, 3-4 levels of color, and the whole flash file was under 4MB! The only gripes I have is that the lipsynch was slightly off in the test swf and that I didn't have time to make the true ending. Oh, and easter-egg fact: my initials make an appearance somewhere inside the flash. :3

Since I'm not fond of NG sponsored collabs in the first place (Stamper and Bandelin get on my nerves... I'd be polite if we ever met face-to-face, but you KNOW I'd be holding back some serious feminist wrath), I'm not too keen on showing my folks a production of notoriously perverted reputation just because I had a part in it. So after the collab comes out, I'll try to put my submission onto YouTube.

I say "try" for a reason. I've finally figured out how to export video files with flash, but there are a couple of problems: One, I can't export the movie file properly since I've used movieclips for certain effects, and two, I seem to be having an issue exporting sound. I've tried to remedy the first problem by swapping movieclips with graphic duplicates, but for some reason the graphic duplicates show up as movieclips on stage. I've also tried search and replace, but that doesn't work either. The hard way seems to work though, which is going into the movieclips on stage one at a time, copying the info for the width, height, x-y coordinates, and the scale percent, putting the graphic duplicate on stage (or nested in another graphic duplicate if the original was nested in a movieclip), entering the copied info for the graphic, testing to see if it matches the movieclip, and finally deleting the original.
Thankfully, I don't use movieclips often, so hopefully I'll get that issue sorted out by the time the collab comes out. As for the sound... well, I don't know how to fix that. I'll figure it out later.

--EDIT-- The video is ready in AVI format. In windows, it shows up just slightly gritty due to compression, but otherwise A-OK including sound. (I guess I had it on mute last time...silly me) Of course, when I view it on the mac side, it's as appealing as a squashed cockroach. Weird color distortions and pixelation out the wazoo.
